Web Accessibility: Don’t go out like Target
May 24th, 2006This is an old story that came out in February, but that is worth repeating for you non-profit folks that may have missed it. Target gets sued by blind patrons for poor web accessibility.
So why should you care? You are the little guy and no one but the meanest person is going to go out of their way to sue you. Yes that is true, but you should be thinking about web accessibility nonetheless. The internet is, I'm going to wax lyrical here, a boon, a democratizing juggernaut, a vast sea of knowledge working for the betterment of mankind. So making sure that disabled people have access to it like everybody else is a good thing (yes I know everybody
